History of Kompia

Kompia was originally invented by Foochow General Chee Sheek Kuong back in the Ming Dynasty. During war, the warrior can't bring a lot of food because they bring too many thing such as weapon. So that the General Chee Sheek Kuong invented the kompia because the hole in the center is for the convenience of running a string through so the warrior can hang a roll of kompia's on their neck. Because the kompia is easily to grab, the soldier hang the kompia around their neck with string through the kompia hole so that they can easily grab the kompia and eat during hungry or to refill energy after war. But now, kompia was serve for the purpose so that the traditional food will not be forgotten and at the same time everyone can enjoy the taste of the traditional food.

      As known a lots of foreign visitors like to enjoy chinese cafe restaurant style environment. The condition of our shop is more slightly more to chinese style so customer can enjoy their food in traditional environment,we also provided customer some music and the view of the shop is like in the garden in china to make people more comfortable

The promotion in our shop is only given in weekend and the promotion is about when customer purchase more than RM 15 will given 10% discount , and free drink to customer "a pot of tea."

Huat Huat Kompia shop now is opening, one of the Kuching specialities shop on selling kompia. Kompia is one of the famous food in Sarawak, as know kompia is "Foochow"s food, it is also a kind of chinese traditional food.Our generation for this kompia business is the third generation of this kompia business and our kompia business generation pass down from generation to generation so that kompia business can be known by a lot of people that seeking for Foochow traditional food. The founder of third generation of this business is Desmond Lee. Our Kompia is make by using wheat flour ,water,salt  and little baking soda. Our Huat Huat kompia provided to everyone except Muslim because our kompia made by using pork, it is non-halal. Huat Huat kompia shop provide more special and differences type of Kompia ,and we also provide traditional environment, it more comfortable for our customer. According to our research in Kuching,that is no one provide the kompia in good environment. We only can saw some businessman sell Kompia in our Kuching street and food corner. So, our shop speciality is that we not only serve kompia traditional food, but also provide a traditional environment so that customer can enjoy our kompia traditional food in traditional environment. Beside serve the traditional kompia, we also serve kompia with a lot of flavor kompia such as kompia with chicken cheese, three layer crispy and others. Our Huat Huat Kompia shop locate at town area because can easily to be spotted by foreign or local people ,as known town area in Kuching is a tourist hotspot, so foreign can more easily enjoy our traditional food. Our shop address is  Jalan Song Thian Cheok, Wisma Phoenix 93100 Kuching Sawarak. Our shop start operating at : 7.00am to 10.00pm for Monday to Friday, during the weekend our business hour is 7.00am to 3.00pm we will make promotion only in weekends.
